I am definetly glad I chose to refresh on everything I learned over the past 4 years! The test is literally everything I learning in my intro to education, intro to diversity, assessment, classroom management, and ESOL course. I was asked a ton of questions about assessment in particular. So refresh on the material you learned in your assessment course. So, formal assessments, summative assessments, authentic assessments, functional assessments, performance assessments, norm reference assessments and criterion referenced assessments. I remember questions like these:
Where will you put the teachers desk in a student centered classroom environment?
What activities would Jean Piaget and Jerome Burner support?
What are the phases of second language acquisition?
What is the best way to create a lesson accommodating all students?
What would happen if a fellow teacher said inappropriate offensve remarks to you?
What would happen if a teacher posted inappropriate content in the teachers lounge?
What is cooperative learning?
Where should you put a student in a wheel chair? least restrictive environment
What are the three accommodating methods for students with disabilities?
What are accommodations for students with visual disabilities? less content at a time and speaking loudly
If a student has anxiety about a oral presentation, what should you do? create a written assessment and allow them to choose either or
What is the best critical thinking task for students
If a teacher makes students on the football team pray, what is this? violation of the 1st amdendment
From what I remember, the test ask basically the same questions just uses a bunch of scenarios. Fairly simple test since it's what we learned in our coursework. There aren't many questions from the ESOL course, so if you haven't taken it yet, it's okay because the study guides should help you know what you need to know for that part. It's a pretty long test so if you aren't good with time, make sure you practice on that. I passed on the first try and I just study a lot of the material I got from my class, used the sample test on the FLDoe website and used the XAMonline book. The XAM online book does have a few grammatical errors but for the most part it was good tool for me in the sense of studying.
I really hope this helped. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me!
