As this is not the first time 2K sports honored the late Kobe Bryant since his departure, the box artwork for the current-gen variant is a painting (instead of NBA 2K21 MT Coins the usual in-person picture for the other variations ) that reveals Bryant sporting his #8 jersey as he dunks. For the next-gen, the box artwork comes with a photo of Bryant sporting his #24 jersey because he waves to a crowd.
The closer we get to the unveiling of NBA 2K21 on next-gen, the more excited I am about what is ahead. The current-gen variant has fumbled around a little, but I have to believe some of the issues are because of 2K dividing its sources together with the next-gen iteration.
It seems clear, 2K has firearms blazing on the PlayStation 5 along with Xbox Series X models, and don't forget what they did to set the bar as we moved into the current-gen back in 2013. This time around, all indications point to 2K doing their very best to deliver the kind of visual experience that is unmatched across--at least--most of the other names set to launch in the first week of next-gen availability. Right now, the one most impressive looking game I've observed on next-gen is Spider-Man: Miles Morales. If you haven't seen it yet, here's a sneak peak and you tell me if you can easily differentiate when the action moves from cutscene to actual gameplay.
The game looks completely bonkers, and there's every reason to believe it'll be a blast to perform with. That said, I will head out on a limb and state NBA 2K21 on PS5 and Xbox collection X will be even more notable. After we saw that the Zion Williamson trailer below, many were impressed, but there were jokes about excessive perspiration, and many others wondered if that would be real in-game footage. Sweat jokes aside, this seems great, and when you imagine what it'll look like in a digital stadium, packed with entirely 3-D-rendered fans, officials, cheerleaders, coaches, chairs and other players on the floor, things go to the next level.
